The Rubber Band Rule
A short vowel is a quick snap: 1 beat (e.g. ุจู = Ba). A Madd vowel stretches that exact same sound like a rubber band for 2 beats (e.g. ุจูุง = Baa). Never change the sound, just double the time!

The 3 Best Friends
Every Madd letter must match its preceding short vowel friend:
โข Fathah (ูู) pairs with Alif (ููุง) โ "AA"
โข Kasrah (ูู) pairs with Yaa (ููู) โ "EE"
โข Dammah (ูู) pairs with Waw (ููู) โ "OO"
โข Fathah (ูู) pairs with Alif (ููุง) โ "AA"
โข Kasrah (ูู) pairs with Yaa (ููู) โ "EE"
โข Dammah (ูู) pairs with Waw (ููู) โ "OO"

The "Naked Letter" Secret
Madd letters are completely naked: they NEVER carry a Fathah, Dammah, Kasrah, or Sukoon! If you see a vowel mark on an Alif, Waw, or Yaa, it is a normal consonant, NOT a Madd.
1. Madd Alif (ููุง)
Fathah stretched upwards into an "AA" sound (like father or car).
